Arieal Stunt Robots

A cutting edge stunt robot has been developed by the Disney’s team of engineers which is able to flip and soar through the air just like the traditional human acrobat. It is developed under the project “Stuntronics”.

Though the execution of the flips, it is impressive. It is 90 pounds Stuntronics which are decked out with the onboard sensors and help the robots in making acrobat decisions in the moment as per the Disney.

It has the capability of mid air posing which elevates the performance along with the bots more carefully in deciding how to stick the landing. It knows very well when to tuck its knees for performing a somersault as well as when to pull its arms in order to twist.

In addition to this, it also knows when to slow down it spins in order to make sure it sticks the perfect landing according to the company. Most importantly, these kinds of robots can achieve a level of accuracy as well as precision with the jumps that would be complex for their human counterparts.

This Stuntronics technology by the Disney is the successor of the Stickman which was a Z-shaped robot and introduced earlier by it. Like the Stickman robot, this latest version is using an accelerometer, gyroscope as well as an array of the lasers in order to perform the stunts.

Spray That Makes Anything Touch Screen

We often look at an object or surface in our home such as a wall or book or back of our phone and wonder that what would happen if they were Touchscreen.

This dream has been come true by the researchers at Carnegie Mellon University in form of Electrick which uses software and a spray in order to turn your surfaces smart.

This technology works with the help of an algorithm in order to read the press of our finger by sensing changes in the flow of electricity across the conductive surface.

According to the researchers, this is the first time when they are able to take a can of spray paint and put a touch screen on almost everything. This Electrick can consider the impact in which when our finger touches any touchpad, then it releases a small amount of electric current to ground.

The idea which is being used by the Electrick is called electric field tomography, running small amounts of current sequentially with the help of electrodes in pairs and recognizing any voltage differences. It means that this Electrick can struggle with the accuracy but is has a lot of potential.

The researchers were able to make the surfaces as large as a 4-by-8-foot sheet of drywell along with objects like a steering wheel, the surface of the guitar as well as a Jell-O mold of a brain into the Touchscreen. The idea of the researchers is to create an interactive back of a smart phone.

The Coyote Spikes are made from chrome plated hard plastic (metal spikes would be too heavy). The spikes are not razor sharp but they are sharp enough to hurt if you apply a lot of pressure and they play a key role in protecting your dog from predators and aggressive dogs.

The Coyote Vest will not slow your dog down or impair their ability to run and play. It only covers the critical neck and side areas where most bite wounds occur. Since it does not cover your dog’s chest area, your dog won’t get too hot wearing it.

Water will not damage the Coyote Vest and your dog can wear it in the water and swim without any trouble. The body armor works by offering multiple levels of protection. First, the large spiked collar area will prevent neck bites and deadly shaking.

Second, the vest is made from ballistic nylon reinforced with a special stab-resistant Kevlar that was originally developed by the U.S. Government for prison guard uniforms.
The Kevlar side panels prevent even the sharpest canine teeth from puncturing the vest in the primary bite zone.

The spherical device consists of a simple styrofoam ball, which is suspended by a blowing air stream. To an ant placed atop the ball, the experience is not too far removed from its natural desert surroundings, or so the researchers say. The ant might feel differently it if could talk.

Even though the ant is tethered to the device, the spherical treadmill allows it to walk using its natural gait, even when it has to quickly move and change direction. The system is equipped with optical sensors, similar to the ones used in a computer mouse.

The cute home robot has camera in its eyes that allows it to see you and take photos and videos of you. Mayfield robotics first announced Kuri earlier this year. But since then, it has got some updates. One of its update is known as Kuri version.

The maker of the robot uses a different approach for a home robot. Rather than controlling internet-connected devices or answering questions about your schedule like the Amazon Echo or Google Home, Kuri’s main mission is to complete simple tasks around the house, like reading bedtime stories to your kids or following you around while playing NPR.

Also, it takes photos and videos throughout the day and you decide which to keep or delete. It is autonomous home video that understands voice commands. But to communicate with people, it uses friendly chirps and beeps just like R2-D2.

The inside of Kuri’s body was redesigned and it has a more comfortable handle. Its new wheels are more like tracks so it can roll over bigger bumps. Kuri navigates in your house using a laser sensor array that enables the robot to understand the actual location of every room in the house.

When Kuri gets tired, it can dock for a power nap. It is available at the minimum price of 799 US Dollar. It has made its debut in customer’s home in December 2017. It has the track wheels, structural updates, and an autonomous home video program.
