Now the Disney is not only known for buy movie franchise as it also creates physics bending robots. VertiGo is a wall climbing robot which is capable of transitioning from the ground to the wall and has been created in collaboration between the Disney Research Zurich and ETH.
It is also capable of mind blowing wall riding due to the pair of tilt able propellers which provide thrust onto the wall as well as effectively sucking it against the vertical surface.
It has four pair of wheels in which one pair of wheels is steerable and each propeller has two degrees of freedom in order to adjust the direction of thrust.
Thrust is applied towards the wall by using the rear propeller and also in upward direction by using the front propeller. It is resulting in the flip onto the wall. VertiGo is operated with the help of steerable wheels so easily as a common radio car.
This is containing two infrared distance sensors which are mounted up front in order to estimate its orientation in space unlike our childhood car. It is the prototype and there is no possibility of its version by its designers for the public at the moment.
This can be used as an entertainment as it provides usual effects. But it is the general technology for locomotion on walls with potential uses such as industrial inspection. It can extend the ability of robots to travel through urban and indoor environments.
This can quickly move on the wall with agility. It takes use of propellers in order to provide thrust onto the wall which ensures that they are able to traverse over indentations such as masonry.
