Aerovelo always concentrated on their target of designing the world’s fastest vehicle with human powered in order to exceed the previous level ground speed record. in 2017 and their hard work paid off in 2015 as Eta first succeeded in its goal and incremented the world recored four times with 144.17km/hr.
Aerovelo’s Eta speed bike has been claimed the coveted position of being the fastest human powered vehicle at the world human powered speed challenge that is held in Battle Mountain, Nevada.
Its streamlined aerodynamic shape makes it faster. It also features a lightweight carbon fibre, frame as well as sleek design which were very helpful in achieving the goal. It is a universe apart from the traditional bikes.
Through its unique shape, it allows the bike in order to face minimum resistance from the air that is the biggest hurdle for the cyclists. This speedbike is faster as it has the ability to utilise its shape.
There are also some other speedbikes out there which are similar to this in design. It would be an amazing thing if one day we could be able to ride bikes like Eta to work or to compete in the races.
But this is not the primary focus of the designers right now as the engineers at Aerovelo are mainly concentrating on improving Eta’s bike which meant for practical use as well as designed with some of the lessons learned from Eta as they could be very effective means of personal transportation.
