The ocean reef group has brought the greenhouse experience underwater. It is known as Nemo’s Garden. The plants sit inside 800-liter glass biospheres. There is a seed container, substratum and a system for anchoring the spheres. This is the most unique and the latest project that offers guaranteed and promising results.
They are also working on the similar project or a mini-version for aquariums up to the size of 14 cm in Diameter. This project aims to create alternative sources of plant production in the extremely difficult environment to grow crops. As the Submerged gardens offer perfect growing conditions.
There’s sufficient H20 for plant vitality, as well as a consistent, stable temperature, and light from the sun which penetrates the ocean’s surface to provide a steady light source. Being underwater, plant life is also protected from parasites and other terrestrial dangers. Nemo’s Garden consists of a cluster of balloon-like pods pegged to the seabed by ropes, half a dozen or so meters long.
The Ocean Reef Group’s Nemo’s Garden concept is also known by the name of Biosphere 3. This underwater plant cultivation is designed for the functional and experimental purpose. It helps in creating and exploring possible links between blue and green economies that also creates a bridge between sustainability and profitability. The underwater farms are eco-friendly in nature and do not create any damage in the sea water.
