The guardrail can operate to deflect a vehicle back to the roadway, slow the vehicle down to a complete stop, or let it proceed past the guardrail. But the guardrails cannot completely protect against the situations drivers may find themselves in.
The size and speed of the vehicle can affect guardrail performance. But these guardrails cannot always protect the safety of the drivers. For this, a company called ETI (Evolution in Traffic innovation) designed “Rolling Barrier System”.
The architects in a Korean company designed the unique road barrier that could minimize the impact of accidents. The rotating barrel converts shock energy to rotational energy and absorbs the collision shock in three points that include the barrel, the buffering bracket and the liquidity of the rails.
It also guides cars in the moving direction upon the crash to prevent secondary collisions. It has a high-intensity and reflective sheeting that improves visibility for the drivers. The height of the barriers prevents cars from leaving the roadway. The independent barrels can make it easy to repair. It also lowers the fatality rates on road accidents.
